Happy Halloween Fellow Fitness Mama’s,
The month of October is a wonderful month with the change of the weather, a ?full moon, and the last day of the month being Halloween.
Hopefully?by now ?your families have?adjusted to the end of summer and the beginning of fall. As Halloween approaches us, I would love to ?encourage you to, Trick or Treat safety?and as you go out an about your neighborhood to watch out for yourselves and others around you. This year my family has decided to go to church, being that the 31st is on a Sunday and have fun with the activities they have planned for the children and the adults. I am grateful for this and am at the same time relieved we won’t be out in the neighborhood on a school night going door to door just for the sake of getting candy. What ever you are doing on Halloween this year make it fun and safe and be sure and look at the candy you get to make sure that it too is safe!!
Below is one of my favorite recipes, it is yummy and healthy too, give it a try:
Healthy Oatmeal Cookies:
3/4 c. ?Applesauce
1/2 c. ?Smart Balance Butter
1/2 c ??Brown Sugar
1/4 c? ?Sugar
1/4 c. Egg substitute
1 t.? Vanilla
1 c. ?Whole Wheat Flour
1 ?t. ?Baking Soda
1 ?t. ?Cinnamon
3? C.? Oatmeal, Uncooked
1. c. ?raisins
Beat applesauce with the Smart Balance. Add in sugars, egg and vanilla. Add combined flour, soda and spices. Stir in oats and raisins. Drop by teaspoon onto sprayed cookie sheet, bake for 8 minutes at 375. LESS THAN ONE GRAM FAT EACH!!
