October is breast cancer awareness month. Did you know that all cancers are 2/3 preventable? Your lifestyle can be a huge factor in if your body will get cancer or not. Prevention is your best means of helping yourself not get cancer. The green smoothie is a great way to protect yourself daily by adding dark green vegetables to your diet.
Putting them in the blender and having them as a blended salad with help you absorb them better than any other way. Please don’t misunderstand me, I am not saying to not have vegetables raw or any other way than blended. I am just here to say that blending them with help your body absorb them the way the were intended to be absorbed and also help them to be digested better as well. Here is a recipe I received from my acupuncture doctor.? Try it, I hope you enjoy it.
Green Smoothie:
16 oz, coconut water
1/2 Bunch Spinach or
!/2 Head romaine
2 Leaves Kale
2 Leaves Red Chard
2 Leaves Dandelion
Chunk Cabbage
handful pin/mango or handful strawberry/ 1 banana
* Add a scoop of whey protein to make this a meal replacement
Trader Joe’s has frozen pineapple and mango, frozen organic spinach
Sprouts, Mothers & Henry’s carry dandelion-looks like long skinny thin papery type leaves, super dark green is the best color.
If you make extra you can safe keep it in the fridge for 3 day’s in a mason jar, and you can also freeze the extra in a mason jar…just leave a little room at the top for it to expand.
