The USDA Food Pyramid – Introduction
Go to www.mypyramid.gov
Here you can find more information about how you can eat healthy and educate you and your family about proper food groups to eat from. This creates balance with your diet and helps you understand the importance of eating from all the food groups, not just the ones you like most. Without eating from all the food groups you miss out on the valuable things all the food groups have to offer and if you do this long enough you could become deficient in one of them. So know how much you need form each area and then make a point of eating from each one each day. Get your family involved with eating healthy together and exercising too. A healthy family is one that enjoys eating meals together and exercising together. Eating together at least twice a week is where your family can eat together and bond with each other. Research shows that families that eat together have a stronger family bond than families that don’t. So let everyone help out in the kitchen with cooking, creating and gathering, you’ll be surprized at how fun it can be. You really get to know your family and it will also be a great way to make memories for a lifetime.
Now along with the eating healthy together, go for a family walk after dinner. This is also a great activity that can help your family bond in a healthy way.
Blessings to you and your family,
