If you are wanting to lose weight and just haven?t been motivated to do so, the picture below just may help motivate you in the right direction. Having more body fat than you should on your body is difficult for your heart and organs for many reasons. It can also be very dangerous especially depending where it is located in the body and on your body type.
For example, if you are a mesomorph (apple shaped), the fat is deep within you and close to your heart is called visceral fat. If too much of that type of fat that is usually around the belly is there long enough, it could cause a heart attack, stroke, type 2 diabetes, cancer, high blood pressure, cholesterol, and many more diseases. Being a mesomorph?is a great body type because you naturally carry a lot of natural muscle, but it can also be difficult for the reasons listed above. The?ectomorph?(banana shape) and the?endomorph?(pear shape), don?t have that to be concerned with this because when they gain weight it goes to the buttocks and the hips. Fat on these body types can cause weight gain and other problems. However, they are not as serious as the?mesomorph?s?problems if weight is gained in the middle of the body.
As women, we need about 13% essential body fat mainly because we bear children. Too much body fat can cause all body types to have health issues. A pound of fat is approximately 3,500 calories and in order to lose 1 pound of fat per week you need to have a 500 calorie deficit daily. That can be done by eating 250 calories less each day and exercising and burning 250 calories each day. By the end of the week, you can lose about 1 pound. The slow weight loss is great and will most likely stay off if you continue to watch what you eat and the type of fat you consume. You want to consume less than 10% of calories from saturated fat and keep total fat intake between 20-35% of calories with most fats coming from polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fatty acids, such as nuts, fish, olive oil, and avocados.
Here are some of the reasons why you want to have more muscle and less fat:
1)??With muscle, you have a leaner physique.
2)???There is an increase in strength and self-esteem.
3)??There is improvement in energy, endurance and your metabolism.
4)? ???You are able to fit into your favorite jeans because muscle takes up less space than fat does. You also appear leaner.
**Weight training is one of the best ways that you can decrease your body fat and increase your lean muscle. Two to three workouts a week are a great idea to stay lean and to help prevent disease from occurring.
